Little America
Most of Apple TV+’s original content has made me cringe, but I highly recommend their anthology series Little America, which is executive produced by Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Emily V. Gordon, Alan Yang, and others. Each episode centers on a different U.S. immigrant, and their stories range from goofy to tragic. I’m especially awed by the economy of the storytelling. “The Grand Prize Expo Winners,” which feels specific and complete, made me cry in fewer than 29 minutes.
Good Drinks by Julia Bainbridge
